Overview
The SparkLearn® 3.4 release has updated tools for automating group memberships as well as updates to our localization processes.
Details
- Group membership automation – This update makes it easier to assign users to pre-existing groups. In a previous release (3.2), we introduced the ability to use fields from SSO to define groups in SparkLearn. With this release, we are adding the ability to use pre-existing SAML groups already within an SSO integration.
- Any attribute provided via your SSO identity provider can be used to assign users to groups (i.e., job role or region).
- Managed Groups (membership is determined by SSO) and users who are added or removed from a group manually will not be affected by automated conditions.
- Localization updates – We have made some updates to our localization process to make it easier for content managers.

Known Issues / Limitations
Web App
- When the learner creates an article and tries to attach a table, it says that they don't have permission, but an empty table is created in an article
- Group automation may unexpectedly add users to groups when a content manager adds a rule with empty conditions
- The total number of articles in a library section on a dashboard page doesn't match with the total number of articles in the content section
- A user’s group membership may be evaluated twice, causing a duplicated xAPI statement
- Podcast report page incorrectly shows a "Complete" tab
Mobile App
- The app may crash when resumed from running in the background for a long time
- Only up to 50 bookmarks will show
- Large accessibility text sizes may cause overlapping text
iOS-specific
- A podcast cannot be replayed immediately after it finishes (workaround: exit and return to the podcast to restart the playback)
Android-specific
- When returning to the Group detail screen after viewing content, it frequently jumps to the top of the view
