SparkLearn® 4.0.5 Release Notes

April 2025

Overview 

SparkLearn is continuously evolving and being updated; the latest release includes updates and fixes following our major 4.0 release in February 2025. 

Details:

  • Improved the icon used for tests and quizzes
  • Fixed an issue where users would receive an error when launching content synced from OpenSesame
  • Fixed an issue where a tenant owner or content manager could not directly add a new user to some groups
  • Fixed an issue where attempting to search for a user to add to the user completion report would fail
  • Fixed the display of tests in the “Next in course” section at the bottom of articles
  • Fixed an issue where users still on version 3 of the app may receive an error message when accessing a group
  • Fixed an issue where multilingual content in courses would always display in the content’s default language as opposed to the logged-in user’s preferred language
  • Fixed a rare issue where content packaged for offline may be unavailable in the mobile app
  • Updated underlying frameworks and dependencies 

App-specific Updates:

  • Updated the podcast miniplayer design
  • Users now “Follow” a podcast instead of “Subscribe” to a podcast; all existing subscriptions were updated
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong item appeared as selected when tapping on content in a group or from the Assigned page
  • Improved layout of the Join More Groups page for the mobile app
  • Fixed an issue in which the app may have made a large number of API calls when opening the glossary
  • Fixed an issue in which the glossary terms would not show up in search unless other learning objects were also displayed
  • Fixed an issue in which group views had the wrong text color and were more difficult to read
  • Fixed an issue in which the app may crash during search
  • Additional bug fixes and performance improvements
  • The Android app now requires version 12 or later

Known Issues:

  • Entity browser loses selection when changing pages
  • Learner is unable to view glossary definition if the term is included within an annotation
  • On the Add a reminder pop-up screen of the set a reminder screen, the choose a day boxes are very close together
  • Navigation bar titles cannot be seen on iOS when text color is set to a light color
