SparkLearn® 3.16 Release Notes

Overview

The SparkLearn 3.16 release adds a new tool to allow Content Managers to verify that links within their system are working and provides reports and tools to address broken links. Also, this release adds links for Tips and Flashcards.  

Details

  • Link Management 
    • Adds a new process that automatically checks links throughout content and builds a report of links that may be broken.
    • Broken links can be seen and edited in the content management interface.
    • A downloadable report can also be generated.
  • Tip and Flashcard Links
    • Adds support for links to be added to Tips and Flashcards (including external links and Glossary items).
  • Veracity LRS Integration - UI Update
    • The Veracity Learning Record Store User(LRS) interface has also been recently updated for all our users. More details can be found here on their blog. 

Enhancements and Bug Fixes

Web App

  • Adds a notice to content managers and tenant owners when viewing a link that the page they’re seeing will not be seen by learners
  • Adds a “last synced” column when reviewing content that is synced from external sources
  • Fixes an issue where tags and topics that had content could not be easily deleted
  • Fixes an issue where the pager was hard to access when adding content to a course or journey
  • Fixes an issue where the public discussion page for an article could show the wrong background color
  • Fixes an issue where the LRS may not correctly record changes in a checklist if the user toggles a checkbox multiple times in short succession
  • Fixes a rare issue where a user could be added to a group multiple times
  • Fixes a rare issue where the password reset form could show unnecessary tabs

Mobile App

  • Fixed an issue in which canceling a download might cause a crash
  • Fixed the xAPI statement for glossary terms being viewed
  • Fixed the xAPI statements for quizzes 
  • Add support for links on tips and flashcards
  • Added support for returning to the dashboard via a link
  • Improved support for how offline scenarios are handled
  • Improved support for how content navigation occurs
  • Android
    • Fixed an issue in which the device may freeze after deleting a comment
    • Fixed an issue in which loading indicators might not display when creating an account
  • iOS
    •  Fixed a crash that occurs when a user denies access to the calendar

Known Issues / Limitations

Web App

  • Podcast notifications going out even though an episode has been created but not published
  • Published content scheduled to unpublish is not being unpublished
  • When a tenant owner cancels an account, an access denied message is displayed even though the account was canceled
  • The name filter is not working on the achievements page
  • Resyncing agent profiles when there are thousands of users encounters 429 errors from the LRS
  • Entity browser loses selection when changing pages
  • An error message is displayed when a user tries to clone content having a title with max length
  • Learner is unable to view glossary definition if the term is included within an annotation

Mobile App

  • Deleting notes from the Edit screen does not remove annotation from notes
  • Phone numbers are not working in links
  • Notes edit screen sometimes gets frozen open on Android if the delete button is pressed more than once
  • The old dashboard is being displayed when a user closes and reopens the app after deleting the downloads cache
  • The image on getting started screen is not being displayed when a user taps the cancel link on the login screen after entering the password
  • Navigation bar titles cannot be seen on iOS when the text color is set to a light color

To ensure that your application is kept up to date, make sure your iOS & Android auto-updates are turned on. We have provided links below to assist you with turning on this feature.
